After graduating from college in May 2003, I started teaching preschool at a rural school district in Virginia. After one year, I moved to first grade for two years. Our family of five did a move to Memphis, where I taught third grade for two years and second for three years. With all of this moving and grooving, I was fortunate to be able to obtain a masters degree in Leadership/Curriculum and Development and a doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy Studies.
This is my second year as an Instructional Specialist. I was very lucky to not only have gotten a job I love, but I am at a school which I absolutely love. I love working in RTI. being able to help struggling students, and certainly see so many benefits of RTI.

Hi Heather, I recently downloaded your umbrella visual of phonological awareness and am wondering if I could use it in a powerpoint presentation which will be shown to my university colleagues (special education post graduate program). Thank you kindly for your consideration.
